In Magellan-FTI project, we developed the Bio…What AR game using the First Parallel Authoring tool. The goal of the game is to promote bio-based products through an educational learning experience.
The player will help Mike to find raw materials (elephant dung, sugar, etc), take them carefully on the mobile phone to a specific place and match the bio-based product that it is produced from that particular raw material. This location-based mixed reality game will allow learning the potential of biological resources which are used to produced products of our everyday life.
The Bio…Whaaaat AR Game is an adaptation of the Bio…What? game developed under the project BIOWAYS funded by the BBI-JU programme. The game developed under BIOWAYS can be accessed here: http://www.bioways.eu/game/
On the 1 to 3 of December 2017, the game was made available at the Maker Faire in Rome in the Bioeconomy Village, which purpose was to raise public awareness, improve knowledge of bio-based products, and promote the benefits of the bioeconomy. During this event, the game was played by more than 200 people.
